Invacare World Team Cup Dinner

The Event

The Invacare World Team Cup celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2009, and the championships were hosted in Nottingham earlier this year. Invacare were hosting an official dinner for over 300 guests, including a presentation of awards for sporting excellence. The International Tennis Federation’s annual Brad Parks Award was to be presented to Jean-Pierre Limborg, and the annual World Team Cup ‘Team of the Year’ award was due to be awarded to Spanish juniors, Daniel Caverzaschi and Roberto Chamizo.

The Brief

This event promised to be a spectacular celebration for the Invacare Team. The dinner required a venue that was close to the location of the championships in Nottingham, and a space that would also comfortably incorporate over 300 guests and be suitably flexible in its parameters for all guest facilities. As Invacare is a charitable organisation, limited sponsorship was available.

The Solution

We approached an appropriate car dealership – an existing client of Collective Minds – who assisted us in sourcing an appropriate venue in the vicinity of the Invacare tournament. The venue was donated for this charity event, and our team set about creating a space that was fun, inspiring, and full of seasonal touches that reflected the sporting atmosphere. The evening’s celebrations were brought to life by the fabulous ‘Tenors Incognito’, a dynamic performance act who wowed the guests by masquerading as waiting staff. A host of superb jugglers also entertained the sporting heroes on their arrival.
