Modern Vintage Wedding
The Event
The groom and his beautiful bride were due to tie the knot at the church of St Michael and All Angels in the picturesque village of Wartnaby, set in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside. The wedding reception was to be held just a five-minute drive away at Friars Well Estate. 200 guests were invited to the wedding breakfast, and a further 100 guests were due to attend the evening celebrations.
The Brief
This was to be a truly spectacular affair that would reflect and complement the tastes and personalities of the bride and groom, down to the smallest detail. The day had to be full of personal touches that guests would be able to cherish, and the evening event needed to be as exciting and mesmerising as the wedding breakfast itself.
The Solution
At Collective Minds, we know that small touches make a big difference. We hand-selected everything, from the flowers and the glassware to the dining furniture and lighting concepts, so that we could bring the personalities of the bride and groom into every aspect of their special day.
Table settings at the wedding breakfast combined vintage chic, to complement the look of the bride, with a contemporary twist that reflected the tastes of the groom. Elegant round tables with French-style antique chairs, antique silver cutlery and simple white flower arrangements filled the centre of the marquee, while the outer isles were lined with clear rectangular tables adorned with minimalist flowers to give a fresh, modern feel. Guests enjoyed a ‘surf and turf’ style main course with 21 day aged sirloin and seared cod, followed by an indulgent dessert combining marsh mellow, popcorn, caramel terrine and nougat chocolate sorbet to add a touch of fun.
The unique venue was used to incorporate an element of ‘storytelling’ that would transport guests from a stunning outdoor entrance for photographs, champagne and canapés, to an indoor reception area for speeches and toasts, and finally to the unique seating area that was dramatically unveiled for the wedding breakfast itself. The evening party was equally spectacular, with the main room being transformed into a dance space complete with a funky band, mesmerising lighting concepts and a magical fireworks display at the end of the night.
