The Event
A black-tie dinner for over 150 VIP guests, held at the prestigious Victoria House in Bloomsbury Square, London, incorporating only the finest food and the most exquisite timepieces in the world. The event was to showcase the horological masterpieces in the latest Patek Philippe 2010 Collection, introduced by Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe.
The Brief
Our client required a spectacular gala event that would maximise the commercial opportunities for guests to see and experience the Patek Philippe collection throughout the evening. The event was to ensure that Patek Philippe’s valued customers experienced the ‘wow’ factor at a carefully selected London venue, with a well-designed décor and exclusive ambience that would reflect these luxurious, world-leading brands.
The Solution
Given the world-class reputation of our clients, we scouted a number of venues, dining furnishings and decorative ensembles that would allow us to bring together the perfect evening of luxury and entertainment. The unique space we created at Victoria House was designed to provide guests with their own exclusive ‘watch boutique’ to showcase this spectacular exhibition. Guests were welcomed with a drinks reception of champagne and cocktails as they watched a master watchmaker at work. They were then treated to a grand unveiling of the dining room: square Perspex tables containing suspended watch parts and elegant accessories provided the ideal backdrop for every course, while Jazz pianist Anthony Kinsey entertained the VIPS throughout the dinner service.
Our sister company, Stones Events, served a delightful banquet of tuna tartar, sesame and cucumber ‘sushi’, followed by poached beef fillet served with potato gratin, warm vegetable and a crisp onion salad. As the exquisite strawberry ‘expo’ desserts were served, guests were able to admire the timeless pieces of Patek Philippe’s new collection, displayed elegantly throughout the seating area. A spokesperson from Aurum, the Watches of Switzerland and Mappin & Webb parent group, said: “Collective Minds put on a fantastic event which impressed both us and our clients.
