Classic White gets the WOW factor!

With the ‘I do’ season in full bloom, we were thrilled to have one of our weddings featured in the latest issue of Bride’s Magazine. This ‘modern vintage’ occasion took place at our fabulous new venue, Friar’s Well Estate in Wartnaby, and the happy couple tied the knot at the village’s beautifully restored 13th century church of St Michael and All Angels, just a five minute walk away. Our dedicated staff and coordinators took care of every detail, and the article features some stunning photos, plus all the info on the gown, the flower arrangements, not to mention our exquisite wedding breakfast!

World Exclusive Secret Wedding

Collective Minds and sister catering company, Stones Events, had the pleasure of organising a very secret wedding over the Christmas period, as featured in 'Hello' Magazine.

Here's what they said about us!

'We were lucky to have the most fantastic wedding planner on board, Tom Goodwin of Collective Minds . I'd worked with Tom on some corporate events in the past, we got on well and I knew that whatever fantastic things we wanted, he'd get them.'

Read Article in Hello

Organising a wedding during the festive season is always a challenge, and as this event was set to take place between Christmas and New Year, we had to make sure that our team members were on hand at all times, carefully putting together every aspect of the event and overseeing the smooth-running of the big day. Despite the unpredictable seasonal weather, our dedicated staff were prepared for all eventualities. Preparations went underway early, and as well as co-ordinating everything from the venue layout, seating arrangements, food, drinks and lighting concepts, Collective Minds also had the pleasure of designing and producing a wedding invitation that reflected the tastes of the bride and groom and their chosen feel for this momentous occasion.

The intimate wedding ceremony took place within the private grounds of a family member's home at their private chapel. After the bride and groom exchanged their vows, guests made their way through the gardens to the exquisitely decorated marquee for champagne, Silver Angel and Big Appleberry cocktails, followed by an elegant sit-down dinner. Guests enjoyed langoustine thermidor, followed by canon and shoulder of lamb. For dessert, gentlemen were treated to a traditional sticky toffee pudding, while the ladies savoured frozen berries topped off with a rich hot chocolate sauce.

The marquee itself was spacious in its parameters, delighting the wedding party and their guests with a separate dining space of rich purples and luxurious blacks, sumptuous flower and candle arrangements, and beautifully adorned tables complete with dustings of decorative jewels for an added touch of magic. After the speeches, a spacious party area was unveiled complete with plush seating areas, a dazzling white-tiled dance floor, and a circular cocktail bar at the centre of the room. The evening celebrations were soon underway, and guests enjoyed dancing the night away to toast the union of the happy couple.

The pop-up restaurant phenomenon

Collective Minds sister catering business Stones Events dramatically transformed Lumbers jewellers into an elegant restaurant for three nights of fine dining and performances by X Factor finalist Ruth Lorenzo.

After chauffeured guests arrived on the red carpet at Market Street, they were greeted with champagne and canapés in Lumbers’ upstairs fine diamond showroom. After dining downstairs in the transformed jewellery shop, they were serenaded by Ruth Lorenzo from the Lumbers balcony.

The transformation of the Market Street jeweller was repeated three times on three consecutive nights, with the shop reinstated in the early hours before being made back into a classy restaurant each night. Jewellery display cabinets were moved out and restaurant tables and chairs brought in.

Lumbers managing director Dominic Gomersall said: “We created the most exclusive restaurant. With just 240 guests treated to a fantastic dinner and an amazing performance by Ruth Lorenzo, this was simply the hottest ticket in town for a unique Christmas dining experience.”

One guest, Michael Sheridan, the chief executive of retail design business www.sheridanandco.com
, said: “It was a truly amazing evening. The food was impeccable, and the whole Lumbers experience was second to none. The attention to detail and the thought that had gone into making sure customers were feeling special was exemplary.”

Dominic paid tribute to the Lumbers staff and Stones Events for making the impossible happen each night: “Everyone played their part magnificently. It was a mammoth job and they did it three times over. Through it all we managed to keep trading each day as a jeweller; a marvellous achievement.”

Stones Events managing director Tom Goodwin said: “Creating the restaurant in Lumbers was an ambitious challenge, but between us we well and truly nailed it. ‘Pop-up’ restaurants are a big thing in London. It was amazing to create such a restaurant in the fantastic setting of Lumbers.”

The evenings also featured an X Factor style film about Lumbers’ Celebrity Row – the Leicestershire team attempting the first ever row from John O’Groats to Land’s End is aiming to raise £150,000 for charity in 2010. To find out more, including how to sponsor, go online to www.celebrityrow.co.uk
Business Awards Dinner for 600 people

The Leicestershire Business Awards 2009, now in its 16th year, is widely considered to be the largest business event in the country. After managing the launch of the awards in September 2008, at Sturgess Jaguar Showrooms in Leicester, Collective Minds hosted the awards for the first time in their history, producing a complete transformation of the occasion, at De Montfort Hall on Friday 24th April 2009.

The esteemed awards evening, an invitation to which is desired by the majority of Leicester-based businessmen, proved to be a resounding success. Guests were welcomed with a reception cocktail, Perfect Lady for the females and Clover Club for the males. A three-course, sit down meal for a further 500 was then provided in the venue’s main auditorium, whilst 150 guests enjoyed a cold buffet and diverse range of mouth-watering desserts on the balcony. All were entertained by live Opera Singers, and speeches from upstanding local figures, in a a breathtaking event, where everything was thought about, from the crockery and glassware used to the style of service and variety of drinks on offer.

Event Management - Catering and Planning

Event Management
What makes the difference between a nice private or corporate event and a perfect experience that goes beyond expectations? The difference is, the perfect experience combines creative expertise with your ideas and takes it to a whole new level. A dedicated team will manage the venue before the event and after, and offer design concepts for decoration, table settings and entertainment as well as theme ideas for the style and presentation of the food and drink. This team will give top quality advice and suggestions whether they are responsible for the whole event, from lighting to liqueur, or just one aspect, such as amazing hors d’oeuvres.

Events managers are asked to plan an event that enhances the image of a product or company. They need to understand the culture of the company as well as their marketing ethos before they can plan the environment which will serve as a background and support for the product. They need details as to the number of expected attendees, length of conference or event, if any entertainment is needed and the preferred venue.

If the venue is in an exotic place, the local culture may well be part of the theme. Possibly small sight-seeing trips would be planned. The food must reflect the company’s culture as well as be delicious. The drink must also be appropriate. Is it champagne or fresh fruit juice? Herbal tea or cappuccino? Is there a formal dinner or casual buffet? And what about the flowers? Fresh flowers are essential at a wedding but also add elegance at a cocktail party. Event managers need to have the experience of many different types of parties, conferences, meetings, weddings as well as cultures and traditions.

Each event has unique possibilities. Good event managers will start fresh with each event and see how it can be made special. For example, when an artists work needs to be highlighted at a dinner for 100, the tables and lighting should enhance the gallery, not steal the show. The colours on the table from the plates to the drinks can harmonize with the atmosphere. Charity events can also be spectacular without going over budget. The event managers can work with the community as well as their own clients to find ways to create the right atmosphere while spending a small fraction of the donated money on the event. Event management is an art for pleasing and impressing your guests

Corporate Event Management

Corporate event management is an essential component to a successful and memorable event. Businesses find that corporate events are necessary to build relationships with employees and clientele. When individuals are relaxed, ideas flow and business deals may close at a faster rate than normal. Both the clients and the hosts must feel at ease during the event in order to achieve the desired outcome. Event planners organize events that are seamlessly executed. The transparency of the service allows both parties to relax and enjoy the evening without being concerned about the details of the event.

Event planners are skilled in planning events for all sizes and types of corporate affairs. The event may range from formal to business casual depending upon the company’s desires. Event planners will ask a series of questions to determine the type of event the corporation desires. Event planners are skilled at listening to determine the desires of their client. Through the inquiry session, the event planner will determine the size of the event, the theme of the event, the desired venue of the event, the type of cuisine served, and the table arrangements. Any other desired accessories, such as table linens, silver ware, crystal, floral arrangements, table tents, name tags, stage and podium setup, teleprompters, projectors and other necessary items to make a corporate event successful.

Companies may also desire an open bar, music to relax and set an ambiance, live entertainment and even photos to capture the event. Businesses may also rely on event planners to make recommendations for décor at your desired venue. These professional organizers are skilled in planning elegant, yet entertaining events for all types of corporations. Event planners have access to reputable vendors that can provide quality service within several different types of budgets. Corporate event management allows businesses organizing an event to simply select one reputable event planner. This person will organize a team of vendors to provide a remarkable event.

Corporate events are designed to impress clients or reward employees typically. Therefore, most companies desire to organize the most luxurious event within the given budget. Companies are streamlining their budgets in every way imaginable. However, they still desire to improve employee morale and keep business clients loyal. Consequently, most organizations view corporate events as an essential component to conducting business.

Companies planning a corporate event should consider corporate event management companies to remove the responsibility from the staff and place the responsibility in the hands of experts.

Catering and Planning

Collective Minds event managers offer the complete A-to-Z answers for your events. Our high standards and professional approach will add sparkle to your event, starting with our immaculate and detailed planning of your event to the carefully selected menus and delicious, mouth-watering cuisine that are specially catered to your taste and budget.

Event Planning:
Our extensive portfolio of successful past events has demonstrated that great planning is the start of a great event. A successful event, be it wedding, cocktail function, corporate dinner reception, official launch or a private party, requires meticulous and careful planning to ensure every details of the event is being looked into. We offer complimentary consultation service to help you with the three ultimate ingredients that are absolutely essential for your event:

1. Theme.
The theme is the heartbeat of your event. Your event’s theme will determine the colour of décor, floral arrangements, silverware, event’s menu, venue and venue setting. For example, at our brilliantly executed British Summer Wedding we created a ‘traditional country’ ambience with floral décor, bone china silverware with food served in picnic style. Another of our success the Modern Vintage Wedding, we spent extensive time with our bride and groom in order to understand them on a deeper personal level in order to re-create a uniquely ‘personalised’ wedding event just from them.

2. Venue
The venue is the key to giving your event that special uniqueness and trademark. Be it by the lake surrounded by gorgeous luxuriant landscape or in a mystical gothic cathedral, Collective Minds can suggest the perfect venue to make your event a most memorable and successful one.

3. Program
The program is the life and soul of your event. For example, a corporate cocktail reception will follow a different program flow from a product launch. Collective Minds provides complimentary professional consultation on the do’s and don’ts and conventional practices of different types of events. You will be assured that every pace of the program will be planned, coordinated and executed with remarkable attention to details.

Event Catering:
With an established reputation in the catering business, Collective Minds’ forte is good food. We have created numerous unique menus to suit the palate of our distinguished guests and corporate clients. Our motto is to use the freshest ingredients to create the most unique menu that will entice your guests and add zest to your event. Our menu is specially created based on your theme and customised to your preference

Corporate Events | Corporate Event Management

Wedding Catering - Wedding Planners

Wedding Catering
At Collective Minds we expect the wedding reception to be just as spectacular as the ceremony itself. In order to do this we strive to incorporate the bride and groom into the look and feel of the event. From the food to the flowers we want to present guests with a classy, yet personal, attention to detail. We want to focus on these details so that our clients don't have to. We hold ourselves to the highest standard in order to make the best memories for our clients. Our experience and design abilities allow us to understand our clients and to transform their ideas into something magical.

We recently hosted a 100-guest wedding breakfast followed by an additional 200-guest wedding reception that same evening at the Friars Well Estate. This gorgeous affair was a vintage-style to accomodate the bride and groom's tastes and included special touches for everything including the lighting, glassware and table arrangements. There was a consistent modern theme, which recongized the groom's taste, as well as a chic feel that reflected the bride. The menu was designed around the preferences of the honorable couple, yet was able to please even the most picky palates among the guests. A "surf and turf" style dinner was served featuring a 21-day aged sirlion and seared cod. We finished the meal with a decadent dessert combining marshmellows, popcorn, caramel terrine and nougat chocolate sorbet.

Much of our role in wedding catering includes transforming a formal traditional wedding into an unforgettable event for the couple. We treat every occasion as if it is our own and we expect only the highest level of service from all our catering employees. We walk our clients through the steps and want to assist wherever possible, whether it is helping with all aspects of the event planning process or simply assisting with catering and menu preparation. Our professionals are courteous and experienced and want to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for all of our clients. Our goal is to combine client tastes and preferences with our creative expertise to form and execute an unforgettable event

Corporate Events | Corporate Event Management

Party Planning - Wedding Planning

Party Planning
There are many details that combine to make a successful party. The most important element, whether it is a corporate event or a private birthday party, is that the hosts are attentive, aware and genuinely welcoming the guests. For this to happen, professional party planning is essential. Not only will the party venue look good and have tasty food well served but the hosts can relax and focus their attention on the main event; the aim
of the party.

Whether it’s a personal assistant in charge of the event or your mother, they will have ideas and expectations of what will make the best party. A good party planner will be a good listener. They will hear your ideas, expand and enlarge them to give you a theme that is exactly what you want and more than you expected. Once the theme is chosen, including design concept with food and drink styling, they will get to work finding ways to make it happen. They will work closely with you to be sure you continue to approve, but you can leave the stress to them and start to enjoy preparing for your party.

Party planners need to create corporate events that launch brands or celebrate luxury while staying within a reasonable budget. It takes years of experience and innovative thinking to create an event that is elegant, impressive and does justice to the company at a fraction of the expected cost. This includes canapés that complement the ambience and theme, cocktails that satisfy but have an unusual touch and even entertainment including live music and games with corporate sponsored prizes worth winning.

Weddings are the ultimate party planning. They need to have personal detail important to the bride and groom that will touch and impress their guests and leave lasting memories. Each detail needs personal attention from the fresh enthusiasm of the wedding breakfast to the happy abandon of the evening entertainments. Everything carefully arranged for champagne on arrival for the guests; photo sessions easy to attend in an appropriate
setting then on to the wedding breakfast. The evening’s entertainment should flow just as smoothly with no fears for anyone in the wedding party.

When a company has a product they need to introduce to a select clientele, they need elegance and attention to detail that reflects their product and their corporate culture. A party planner needs to create a feeling of exclusivity for each client while producing an event for hundreds of attendees. This kind of planning takes brilliant ideas with no limit to the imagination

Planning Parties or Weddings Using a Hotel Setting

When planning a family or high school reunion, graduation party, a formal wedding and reception, or a silver or golden anniversary celebration, a hotel makes a marvelous venue for your festivities. Most hotels provide a professional party planner who will help you set up the area, choose food that will amaze your guests, even schedule a band to fit your taste. This allows you, as host, to actually relax and enjoy the party along with your friends.

A good party planner listens carefully to your ideas and finds ways to make them work within the confines of the hotel space, and the staff’s capabilities. She will help you choose a theme, then expand it with additional suggestions, to make your celebration truly spectacular. The decorations, table settings, food service, even the arrangement of the tables need to complement your concept. The meal and drink styling also must set the mood. The hotel staff will work to ensure that you approve of all aspects. They will deal with any problems that arise and you can even enjoy the party preparation.

If you are having a family or school reunion with adults and children, your planner will design an area and activities for the children, and teens. Your options are endless because the hotel will have hosted hundreds of events with good results, and yours will create wonderful, lasting memories. Hotel settings can allow for out-of-state guests to stay on site so that they are readily able to attend all aspects of your event.

Many hotels have not only indoor venues, but rooftop gardens. During seasonably good weather these are wonderful areas to utilize for your gathering. They are especially popular for weddings and receptions. The setting itself provides an elegant ambience which can only be complemented by any decorations added. The same space can be used for the wedding ceremony and reconfigured to facilitate the reception. It is not necessary for you or your guests to arrange transportation from one site to another. The hotel’s restaurant facilities are able to cater your gathering. You may select from a variety of hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and exquisite meals. They can even provide a fantastically beautiful wedding cake. This arrangement makes the planning and set up of your wedding much easier for the bride and groom, and you still have a unique, glamorous, and memorable celebration.

Corporate Events | Corporate Event Management

If you want your corporate event to stand out, you will need to pay careful attention to the planning, the event coordinator, the location of the event and the caterer. There are a lot of details that go into planning corporate events, and it's best to hire someone who can take care of all of the details for you.

It might be hard to know who you can trust to handle your corporate event, so it's always a good idea to read reviews online and ask your business associates for recommendations. There are a few things that you need to look for when searching for someone who can not only host your corporate event, but take care of every last detail.

Look for someone who is willing to personalize their service. Personalizing your corporate event will make it memorable to those who attend and will help the company to further establish its branding. It's best to find a manager who can make your event unique and memorable. When you are speaking with event managers, ask them what they will personally do to make sure that your corporate event is unique.

Find out what services are offered for your corporate event. You should be able to have all catering, lighting, sound equipment, venue setting and more taken care of by one event manager. This manager will be the key to making your event one that everyone enjoys and remembers.

A good event manager will be able to design a complete corporate event plan which encompasses all aspects of the event. He or she should be able to provide ideas for entertainment which suit the personality of your company and what you are a trying to achieve with the event. The manager must also be easy to work with and available for consult at any time.

Hosting a corporate event doesn't have to be a time consuming, difficult process. You should be able to hire a company or a manager to make sure everything at your event goes smoothly and ensure that you have nothing to worry about.

Corporate Events | Corporate Event Management
